Hi all,

I just put together my new computer but something is weird. It is a real pain to get this GLADIAC to work with my BE6-II. It keeps beeping. The beep sequence is the same as if there was no video card. :( After a lot of pushes and pulls, I can get it to work, but every time I turn the computer off, the problem reappears.

Now the funny part: I took this GLADIAC to my work and it instantly worked with the computer I use there. Then I got the video card from my work's computer (Diammond TNT2) and it instantly worked with my home computer! :|

So, who should I blame? The motherboard? Video card? Both? Neighter one?

Is there any known issue between GLADIAC and BE6-II?

HELP!!!

Thanks,

That was a good guess, but no go! :(

I upgraded the GLADIAC BIOS (from 0.00.03 to 1.02.00) and my motherboard from QJ to SH it the problem persists.

It is very strange. Once the I get the video card to work I have no problems, but once I turn the computer off and then on again, it will most certainly beep! :(

GLACIAC and BE6-II onwners: did you ever seen this happen?

HELP!

It's a common problem with the BE6-II and BF6.
Try to lower the I-O Voltage to 3.20 or 3.30 (it's defaulted to 3.50V on these boards mainly to solve problems with the older GeForce).
This worked for me on my new BF6 and a CL GeForce-2 GTS.

Are you serious? I'll definitly try this as I get home. Actually I'm calling my wife now so she can try this and let me know how it goes! :)

Thanks a lot for the hint! I'll let you know how it went!

Hi there,

Here I am again with no good news. :(

I changed my I/O Core vontage (in BIOS) from 3.5v(default) to 3.3v and 3.2v and, after turning off my computer and turning it on again, we can still hear some beeps! :(

What is the default voltage for I/O in the 440BX chipset (from Intel, not from Abit with their 3.5v default)?

Anyway, thank you very much, Chrasher for the hints!

Sorry, bad luck :(
Default AGP-spec. voltage is 3.3V
It worked for me with a Creative GeForce-2 GTS. Most of the time on 3.20V I can boot normaly, but when it beeps I just hit the powerbutton for a second off and on and it will boot normaly.

When I'm using the keyboard for booting - CTRL F1-F12 (bios-setting) I don't have this problem at all. :)

Strange. I have never heard of that problem. My Gladic worked perfect out of the box with the be6r2 and is working in a couple of my friends rigs. Try upping the I/O voltage to 3.7 or so. May help. Also, what is your fsb set to? Any strange pci/isa cards? Remove them all except for one stick of ram and the video card to see if there are any specific card conflicts..

BuddyHolly, I tried this card alone in my system and no go. I'm running a P3-700 in a 100MHz FSB. Have not tried overclock yet. I wanna make sure everything is working properly before trying to overclock. AGP is set to 2/3 and PCI to 1/3.

I'm going to try 3.6v and 3.7v I/O Voltage as I get home later today, but as you said, it should work in the default 3.5v(Abit) or 3.3v but it's not! :(

I'm thinking about returning this stuff, but I don't know what to return (video card or motherboard?) since this GLADIAC worked fine in a Dell Precision 610 in my work and the Diamond TNT2 of this system worked fine in my BE6-II!

This is sad! :(

Thanks,
