Hi guys

I Have the 6 gig kit of corsair memory rated at 8-8-8-24 @ 2000 MhZ... Recently it failed to be able to run 2000 MHz and can only run at 1333 MHz. The question really is, though, is that is it my board? My Motherboard reports NB temperatures of 65-70 degrees prior to shutting down if I try 1866 MHz at 7-8-7-20 or 8-8-8-24 at 2000 Mhz.

It runs perfectly fine at 1333 MHz. on both instances the NB temperature is set to Auto, but it sures ounds like my ram is deteriorating.

Suggestions?

Ok I thought maybe NB overheating wasn't attributed to the memory but the chipset itself, but I couldn't see how it got so hot out of nowhere. It would make sense if the kit somehow kept asking for more volts to try to run the same settings.

Kingston and Ocz are now starting to do the same thing. I wonder what they are going to use for ic's now to hit 2,000 mhz at 1.65v........

Probably nothing, until either Elpida fixes the problems with their chips, or someone else comes up with a chip that can do those speeds.
