I firmly agree! I'm not the one saying I'm a free speech absolutist though.

Just like he has a right to fire employees that criticize them Twitter has a right to ban people who act poorly. Musk thinks only one is a violation of free speech, which is amusing.
The concept of a free speech absolutist is absurd to me because it implies that one could say anything that pops into his head without repercussion. An absurd concept unless one suffers from turrets.

Its almost like I know where you have picked this sentiment up... mmm... it escapes me, its sooo close though.
The fact that the hypocrisy is lost on you... I cant even... You the type that needs jokes be explained to you too?
The hypocrisy isn't lost on me, but I have always assumed any conversation about free speech implied political speech.

But that is how Musk has described himself, or do you disagree?

"Turrets" is the condition that T72s suffer from (at least the tendency to fly off of them with such force), I assume you mean Tourettes, the tic-based syndrome?

Glad you acknowledge that Musk is just a bit dim in calling himself a 'free speech absolutist', when it's a meaningless term.

Thought I had the spelling wrong, but didn't care enough to check.

I don't know if Musk has ever explained what he means by free "speech absolutist", but by it's literal meaning, it's an absurd concept.

he backpedaled almost immediately after his first "free speech" comment saying that he'd follow all applicable laws.

which means there is some level of moderation that would occur under a musk-owned twitter.

I think he specifically mentioned local applicable laws or something that implied depending where the laws were. As in basically, whatever China tells him to do, he'll do, like we all know already.

After that he said he would censor ‘bad and wrong’ speech too. Basically he’s an edgelord who wanted to buy his favorite website to make it do what he wanted.

There would have to be some moderation, or every basement dwelling incel on the planet would spend 18 hours a day spouting off obscenity's.

I don't have an issue with that. If he wants to blow a few billion dollars to convince himself he's got the biggest swinging dick on the planet I wish him well. We'd all be better off without twitter.

Uh no. It's bad because we see Elon is a giant hypocrite with an agenda, and he is just going to transfer that to Twitter.

He wants to reinstate Trump to Twitter, who tried to overthrow American democracy both bureaucratically and with violence.

Apparently that's not bad and wrong enough.

Try to think

With a little luck this will be the drop that makes the cup flow over in terms of the general population getting fed up with these moron billionaires sticking their noses where they dont belong.
Musk used to be the one out billionaire, cause he didnt use his billions to fuck with politics, he used them towards his next project that he was all in about… Now he has done a 180 crazy Ivan and is just another tick on society.

edit: In an anecdotal sidepiece, I've just been booted from the last spacex group I was member of on facebook cause I dared(not in anyway toxic) to question the direction of dear leader and damage to his brand.
Only drones need apply.

Free speech doesn't mean "consequence free" free speech. Crap on your boss and he has the right to stop paying you.

lolololol. After years and years of your nonsense, you finally manage to squeeze this one out. I wonder if you actually believe this, or it will be applied in all the other ways that you have endlessly bitched and moaned about people's "free speech" getting very freely criticized in this same way.

What?

No. That's just silly that you would actually think this. I don't believe this is at all true. It's just something you are posting right now to try and save ass. :D

example--This is what you once called protected political speech, just a little "dust up":
70

Do you still believe these people are free from the consequences of their, what do you call it? Oh yeah: "speech." You know, because it's political.

Careful! This is a bit of a trap: If you call this political speech and as you want, demand that they be freed from judgement and punishment, then you are going against the marching orders of your GOP handlers that are very much upset that an undeniable right-wing Trump-lead attack on the United States has "been made political."

Tread carefully, here, this one's a doozy!

Either he is arguing from a position of bad faith or he is really this stupid, either way nothing will come of this.

This is why I so rarely push the button that shows posts from blocked members. You're incapable of adult discussion, and I have no desire to read the rantings of a spoiled child.
