"Threads" is IMO, the first real threat to Twitter. I've been skeptical that even Elon Musk could destroy Twitter, unless the users had a clear alternate destination. "Threads" is a clear destination.
Zuckerberg, must be just laughing himself silly, because without Musk actively working so hard to destroy Twitter, he never could have pulled this off. Musk essentially paid 44 Billion to gift Twitter to Zuckerberg.
It can no doubt scale better than Twitter, and likely already shares a lot of the same user base, because "influencers" often blanket the social media space so many Twitter users will already have Instagram accounts, and many of the same followers, so they can essentially just activate their "Threads" account and much of the transition is done, even with much of their userbase.
Instagram is kind of the Trojan Horse that can let "Threads" eat Twitters lunch (bastardizing two idioms).
I really need more popcorn now...
Feels extremely uncomfortable to be on Zuckerberg's "side".
But it seems as if Musk is planning to do the usual "macho self-made entrepreneur" thing of trying to appeal to the state to rescue him, by making up some legal BS to forcibly prevent Meta competing with Twitter.

The goal isn't to replace Twitter. The goal is to create a public square for communities on Instagram that never really embraced Twitter and for communities on Twitter (and other platforms) that are interested in a less angry place for conversations, but not all of Twitter. Politics and hard...www.threads.net
I think it pretty obviously is no matter what they say.Thank you for sharing. I guess my perception was that it was going to be a Twitter replacement.

I’m not really even sure what Twitter does to ‘encourage’ news sharing in some different way than any other kind of content. Anything at all?
Tesla literally designed a truck that might as well be called "The Homer", and I bet that design was heavily influenced by the leadership.Tesla and SpaceX are examples of companies where Elon is massively kept reigned in from much of the actual operations of the companies, and why they can succeed.
Yea. Like. What the fuck.Tesla literally designed a truck that might as well be called "The Homer", and I bet that design was heavily influenced by the leadership.
Look at these shitheads.Thank you for sharing. I guess my perception was that it was going to be a Twitter replacement.

That’s fair, maybe they will try to actively cut it down. I think so long as they don’t give a shit either way it will be ok.I’m not aware of anything that encourages news sharing.
I’m thinking more about news moderation following Musk’s shenanigans.
i.e., if hard news and politics are not worth the “scrutiny and negativity,” that leaves me less than optimistic about their moderation practices. Am I just being paranoid?
Elon is just projecting again
Musk showing what he really thinks about all the time. Maybe the real reason he has 40 kids.
soooooo.....every accusation is a confession?
