What's hilarious about this misinformed view is the urban neighborhoods that people like the most all got put up way before there were almost any zoning regulations They could not be legally rebuilt if they burned down.
Also before everything was designed around the car. I was just in Maui and thinking about how different Front Street in Lahaina is from anything on the South side and how much better it is. At the end of the day it comes down to parking lots. The South side was developed requiring every development to have its own parking. Lahaina was built with one chain wide right of ways with no parking lots. One is fun to walk around and one isn't.

Zoning needs a massive overhaul, starting with getting rid of parking requirements. Cities should help put in parking garages (or better yet, PT) to allow dense walkable commercial districts to develop again.

Also fuck Elon, I can't believe hole money people still support him.

He’s rich! That’s about as good as being medically trained and an expert in all sorts of fields.

Pop quiz: when do rich smart people realize they are saying/believing something stupid?

That was a trick question as they never realized it because their ego won’t allow it.
Exactly, Dunning Kruger in full effect. He is a specialist in child care, gender affirming psychology, social studies and free speech, micro biology, geo politics, domestic politics and so much more. He’s been called a genius so many times he has effectively adopted the idea and with only yes men around….

Yeah, central Kihei isn't totally terrible but still very auto oriented to say nothing of Wailea. Certainly less pleasant to walk around than Lahaina.

Are we going to pretend that government doesn't control the auto industry? Fuel economy standards and safety requirements all lead to increased cost. We can toss licensing and safety inspections into the mix as well.
The view that allowing uncontrolled construction will solve more problems than it creates is absurd. What we'll end up with will look like the third world.

I think the government needs to both restrict and relax housing zonings.

As you say, uncontrolled construction will not solve the problem.

Restrict housing in areas that don't make economical sense. Like the houses that get built in flood zones.

Relax it in areas that do make sense, like population dense urban locations and surrounding suburbs. Build affordable housing that makes sense. Multi-floor housing complexes are fine, but do not build a 20 floor slum. It's a better use of . But you need to make it a nice and safe community to live in. Housing complexes with modern amenities such as a gym and a pool, and general recreation area.

It's amazing what happens to society when families are included in a nurturing environment rather than one where the populace is barely surviving. And some billionaire nutjob pushing conspiracy theories is NOT a nurturing environment.

Kind of surprised it's only a 59% drop.

Might be because advertising from MyPillow is way up! lol

Soon it will be all ads for gold coins (at huge inflated prices), prepper supplies, various multi-level-marketing schemes, diet pills and so on

I'd like to see an actual P&L statement. Being a private company all that really matters is that it's profitable enough to keep it running.
Musk cut something along the lines of 5000 employees, that's an enormous chunk of payroll and benefits. If the company lost 59% of it's revenue but cut 80% of expenses that might not be such a bad thing. Though it's hard to see how that will cover a 44 billion dollar investment. He'd pull better than a billion a year if the cash was in a savings account.

I guess you're forgetting the $13B in debt he loaded the company up with that is costs ~$1.5B a year to service. That was not an expense Twitter had before purchased it. There is no way around it so far Musk's handling of Twitter has been an unmitigated disaster from a finance viewpoint. The enterprise value appears to be 2/3 less than the sale price and he has driven away a majority of his primary revenue stream just by generally being an asshole.

And that is just for Twitter.

Also, didnt he sell more tsla after the fact to keep the lights on? So effectively 44B + something.
edit: quick googling says something is 4B.

Even Musk admits the company is losing a lot of money.

Just cut some more people. According to conservatives around here, you don’t really need ‘em to run a global website

I mean that DeSantis presidential announcement on Spaces went pretty smoothly...no technical troubles to be seen that resources like knowledgeable personnel and infrastructure could prevent.

Well if you don't even pay contractor for the technology to make it happen...

Is he referring to people blocking posts from appearing in their feed if it's from a specific user? If so... what?

Yeah, I think it's specifically for block lists.

He was replying to Andy Ngo, who is a first order twat waffle.

Yeah, if that's the case, it's pretty obvious that he means you shouldn't be able to block all the posts from him and his fascist buddies, just some of them.
