Good Riddance to Parler.

“No reasonable person believes that a Twitter clone just for conservatives is a viable business any more,”

Someone should tell the Mad King, because he keeps trying to turn Twitter, into a Twitter clone just for conservatives.

Hm, interesting, so they don't think the Twitter clone is viable, but they still plan to find a way to generate income from the user base of “marginalized or even outright censored communities."

Marginalized. Those poor, marginalized people, being censored for being racist and queerphobic assholes. Won't someone think of the assholes?
No, not like that, you filthy perverts.

We should save them from the tyranny of margarine and get them some butter!

They've shown they'll believe anything, so we can get them to believe it's butter.

There were a lot of words in that story, and very little content. It sounds like they're going to focus on the lunatic fringe. Which leads to the question, how much toe fungus cream can actually be sold?

That won’t work either - the entire idea of a right wing social network is nonviable. It’s also why Twitter is in danger of collapse.

The main issue is the thing that right wingers enjoy about social media is fighting with liberals. If you chase away the liberals or have a situation where they never join to begin with then your remaining right wing users don’t get to have any fun.

I disagree. I visit a site that has a very far right section, and those folks are just like most others, they're looking for conformation of their beliefs, and for approval. They post about how the left is ruining the nation and have links to corroborating stories and examples of the objectionable behavior. It's P&N turned upside down.

Personally, I'd prefer that all social media goes down in flames. It's a societal cancer that's metastasizing at an alarming rate and needs to be removed.

When it comes to social media, that is not the case. If it were, gab and parler would be highly successful. But they weren't.

Yes I think the best evidence that right wing social media is nonviable is that people have repeatedly tried to set up exactly that and not one has been successful.

It's not just the users, it's the advertisers. When you make your social media network the go-to place for Nazis you're only going to get advertisers who are okay with their content being placed adjacent to Nazis and (thankfully) there aren't too many companies like that.

SpaceX's Starship, world's most powerful rocket fails to separate and EXPLODES in $3BN fireball.

I don’t see this as a problem - it’s a feature of SpaceX’s development strategy. They iterate by testing in the real world.

Elon Musk is a world class piece of shit but SpaceX is doing good work.

yea, that was iterative development.

SpaceX knows their stuff. Musk is distracted over in Twitter land, this is a company functioning as designed.

Yup…. Don’t need people to subscribe when you can just say they did and steal their credibility.

what a fucking joke.

Maybe the Mad Kings next plan will be to make people pay to remove check marks if they don't want them anymore, as they become marks of shame.

I don't use Twitter. But my bosses son bought a Tesla model Y performance about a year ago. He paid too much, especially since the recent price cuts. Rumor has it that after a year he still owes more than a new one now costs. Anyway, he raged about it on Twitter, and apparently now can't access his own account lol.
Before that he thought Elon was a god and savior.

Seems rather ripe for civil legal actions....

Yup. Give it a day or so before this too gets "rolled back" after legal threats. All that has to happen is for Stephen King to suggest his next book sales would be harmed by being associated with Phony Stark and shit will end real quick.
