I'm guessing Apple's tweets haven't come back. And supposedly whoever was in charge of their Twitter presence suspended their own account (I didn't bother to look for myself.)

So, yeah, it looks like Apple is definitely leaning toward removing the app from their app store.

But also, the fact it isn't gone yet, makes me wonder if someone at Apple doesn't want to give its users reason to ditch their product and go Android if iPhone users can no longer access Twitter.

Now if Google went ahead and removed Twitter from the Play store, Apple positively would have removed the app like yesterday.

It will be interesting to see how things unfold.

Two things ... First, I don't see users swapping ~$700 phones just to get access to twitter. Second, if apple drops it I doubt google is far behind. They'd love to stick it to Elmo as well.

Musk blames lack of his promised moderation committee on activists starving him of ad revenue, despite a promise not to do so.

Activists say he's full of shit. I know who I believe.

"Musk is losing advertisers because he’s acted irresponsibly, slashing content moderation teams that help keep brands safe and gutting the very sales teams responsible for maintaining relationships with advertisers,” Gonzalez told Ars. “The main person responsible for the Twitter advertiser exodus is Elon Musk.”

One thing being laid bare in all this is how untrustworthy and dishonest Musk is. He seems more Trump like every day.

He seems more like your typical ultra rich person. You know, someone who thinks they are the smartest person in the room.

"Today, the new owner of Twitter started a poll that asks if all previously banned accounts should be reinstated en mass on the platform. While Musk did note that it would only be allowed “provided that they have not broken the law or engaged in egregious spam,” it would bring back a ton of accounts that the previous administration deemed to break a number of community rules on the platform."

If he wants to do that it’s his business. What conservatives don’t understand is their demand that Twitter publish their thoughts was a violation of free speech.

So is harassment and misinformation right? You have to allow all of it, right?

The basic idea is that conservatives believe the government should force private companies to publish their speech. The first amendment of course is made precisely to prevent this sort of attack on free expression but conservatives have never cared about this. They want their speech published, by force if necessary.

It’s easier if you look at this as a case of conservatives wanting special privileges as opposed to them having any fixed set of ideas, which they do not have.

It will probably also destroy his business, of course. Reinstate all the spammers, pornographers, anti-vaxxers and harrassers, and advertisers will likely flee en masse.

It very well could but it’s his choice to light $44 billion on fire. The entire premise has always been that Twitter, regardless of ownership, can publish whatever it wants.

I just want to know if they’ll still act like snowflakes when they get bombarded with posts that highlight their stupidity and make them feel small. Or if that’s not covered under “free speech”.

You and I both know they completely do not understand how free speech works and how it means the government won’t retaliate against them for what they say. They clearly disagree with that as they fully support desantis and his move to retaliate against speech he disagrees with.

I don’t agree that the issue is due to ignorance. I think Taj thinks the government should promote conservative speech and punish liberal speech. He puts this in different terms but that’s because he is an unrepentant liar.

I don’t engage with him with any expectation that he will get better because he won’t. I just get personal satisfaction out of dunking on this idiot.

They will complain because they never actually cared about free speech. Although to be fair most people don’t, regardless of political affiliation

Well, yeah, someone like Musk very clearly illustrates how anyone who goes on and on about "absolute" free-speech is invariably a hypocrite. I do, though, suspect that "absolute free speech" is an incoherent concept. I don't believe such a thing has ever existed anywhere.

I agree that absolute free speech is an incoherent/stupid idea. In regards to Twitter though it’s very simple. Twitter can choose to publish whatever speech it chooses.

You can also punch yourself in the nuts at any time you want. You have the right! Hell, use both your right and your left. Make America Great and Glorious Again!

Oh that big bad mean Babylon Bee!
The Babylon Bee is the Fox News of comedy. The Alex Jones boner pills of modern medicine.

Yes i know, everything you disagree with, including the Bill of Rights is an incoherent/stupid idea in your eyes. Yes, we understand you quite well.

What’s funny here is that my point was all speech should be published, even if I disagree with it.

The fun part is you are an exceptionally stupid person but I 100% support your right to be stupid. I will always support your right to speak. Do you support mine?

Yes I did, was the Babylon Bee guilty of harassment or misinformation ? No. Asked and answered.

Hmm…You seem to be struggling here. You were referring to how you think things should be, I was just asking you if that included harassment and misinformation as apart of your “free speech”.

Do you find it odd that you constantly change the subject and dodge questions, with people you supposedly want to have discussions with?
