Musk claiming traffic at all time high, but report shows decline in users. I guess both could be true, some are abandoning the platform but people are still watching the train wreck.

It seems like being an endless train wreck as a driver of activity doesn't seem like a long term win...

twitter stopped getting rid of the bot accounts that it formerly cleared out on a daily basis.

Winder now if the Tesla board has already started considering the potential damage Musk is going to keep doing to the company and brand the more he very publicly exposes his complete and total incompetence at running....anything.

There isn't anything preventing them from completely ousting him from the company, probably buying out (assuming they have any cash left) enough of his shares to bump him back down below 50%?

He's exactly the same way at SpaceX and Tesla. There are just more guardrails there and less of a spotlight when he was doing that the most.
Yea I dont think so.
I see where this thread is heading, but to imagine Tesla has become what it is spite of Elon is nuts… Same with SpaceX. Does he need some not-yes men to dial him in at those places? Yea. My guesstimate is that he knows he needs them and keeps them around for that purpose. But not for Twitter: Arrogance. Its not engineering, its another field another culture… and all he sees is still nails… And Elon has a hammer so…
Ill call it arrogance. And an inability to reassess one self.

Tesla without Musk would probably drop at least 50%.

This is the winner lololololol
Given what is left of the staff, appears Elon is handling not only tech support like this name change, but also he makes up the entire PR, advertising, finance and regulatory compliance organizations, all by himself.

I don't think he owns more than 50% of Tesla, it was around 20% at the beginning of the year but is probably way less now after selling a bunch to buy Twitter and then some more recently.

You forgot:
Sales
HR
IT
Research and development
Product development

Oh, and he does QA in real time.

It's like all the 'lookie-loos gawking at the carnage of a horrific automobile wreck.

Having a big stack of money and huge tolerance for risk goes a lot better at a start up than a mature company.

Regardless, he still treats the employees like shit at both of those other companies and then takes all the credit for the work.

Idk, given the recent debacle and how Elon Musk has been showing the world what kind of person he is, I think it's fair to argue that Tesla is currently dropping because of Musk. I mean, just consider how many potential customers Tesla has lost because of Musk's personality and well... political affiliations.

Now I'm feeling strange about this situation:

1: Yeah good, fuck those guys and fuck Twitter
2: Um, OK, sure. Now Lilly will probably want to not only seek damages from Twitter, which they probably can't because "free expression" internet bylaws or whatever...but will deifnitely seek to out and seek damages from the fake account, if somehow possible....and we would be inclined to think that more evil of them but...is it?
3: Probably in the best interest that, even though Twitter is rat-fucked and incompetent right now, and big bad pharmaceutical being punished, if only temporarily....you also can't allow, as a public I think, these kind of fake news and impersonation opportunities to go unaddressed, considering the very real and very serious impact it does have, on a great number of people. This is just one example of how dangerous this can be. And it is the point of Elon being way the fuck out of his lane and how dangerous this is.
4: Accountability needs to be corporate, public, and personal when it comes to the legitimate danger that this kind of sabotage can do. We've been talking about for a very long time now, and even when it feels like "a win" against powerful, probably rather evil people, this isn't a good precedent for anyone.

Have to admit all of this is super entertaining.

As far as Twitter usability I have not really noticed anything different myself but I am expecting to shed at least 1,000 followers once the bots get purged, Elon recently hinted at that coming very soon.

I don't think Elon is planing to make money with this, this is mostly a play toy for his own entertainment. Can't blame him, even billionaires have to have a bit of fun with their money. Not all purchases have to be smart financially when you have virtually unlimited money.
