Musk is good with physical things that move. (Tesla, space x)

No clue what he was thinking in buying Twitter, and at double the price.
And that price was back then before the fed rate hikes and recession.

Twitter is imploding and musk is pouring more gasoline on the cash he lit on fire.

It's like musk is doing scorched earth.
Wtf don't understand
Has nothing to do with physical things, necessarily. How Elon Musk made his fortune was a combination of luck, bravado, taking huge risks, and being an excellent manager of engineering teams. While we can debate his management style and current state of mind, the results to date kind of speak for themselves. The reason there has been so much fanboyism around Elon is that his rabid supporters believe he's Steve Jobs 2.0. A guy who was never a real engineer, but understood what people wanted and doggedly pushed his employees to make products that people will buy.

But other than that, he's a narcissist and arguably a charlatan, and liberals are increasingly looking away from Tesla for BEVs.

We're definitely in his target market and would not buy again. Helps that more competitive models are coming to market. My husband traded his Model 3 in on an ID.4 which he likes a lot better. The biggest issue right now is fast charging which will eventually improve.

I have to admit, some of the blue checkmark shenanigans right now are hilarious.

But yeah, a bad actor or rogue state could easily cause some harm.

Well he has pissed off advertisers, pissed off users, been erratic and hypocritcal about everything, having a half-assed rollout of 'new' features, fired half the employees, and now is going to lose a bunch more

He's a sociopathic narcissist. I mean a professional cave rescuer said his submarine idea was dumb, and mr. free speech tried to smear him as a pedo.

And his brainless followers like @ponyo were on here spreading that garbage like it was truth.

My wife watched the movie about that and I caught the end. If that was anything like reality, the submarine idea was even dumber than I thought at the time. I was glad to see that the movie didn’t even mention that stupidity.

I'm seeing a lot more errors crop up in the app. Mostly formatting stuff but enough to notice regularly now.

hell no. Elon wants his billions to save humanity by going to mars. He has said that as justification for not wanting to pay more in taxes. This is going to cost him a shitlload of money, and definitely big problems with Tesla, as it already has started to do. He really is just that out of touch with reality and is completely locked up in his narcissistic sociopathic mind.

Yeah to me it is clear he had no plan going into this, destroying Twitter or otherwise. I think he likes Twitter and decided to buy it on a whim. Now he's paying the price.

He could have just laid off 75% of Twitter outright instead of doing this weird two step where he gets rid of half the company and then makes it so miserable to work there he loses half of those remaining. Presumably those who leave from this point forward are probably the best and most marketable staff, so whatever the opposite of trimming the fat is, this is it.

My impression is that Musk got butthurt over something he read on Twitter and bought the company so he wouldn't have to read such things again. I wonder if the investment banks backing his purchase were dumb enough to accept Twitter as collateral?

Yeah, that's really worked out well for him ...

It's like buying an expensive piece of Wagyu beef so he could trim off the fat.

I'm not sure at what point the lenders panic and try to wrest control of the company but the owner essentially saying "fuck consent decrees come at me bro" seems to move more in that direction.
