Ever watched the richest man on the planet discover, in basically real time, that his actions can have consequences? Well you can and it's free!

So ... Companies freely choosing where to put their ads is destroying free speech.

I love how Musk is a brilliant smart businessman who can run anything, and is also some twitter free-speech warrior locked in constant struggle with "woke" activists and "cancel culture"…His biggest problem is that he’s a megalomaniacal jackwagon who doesn’t have objective critics around him whose job it is to help separate the good ideas from the bong hit-fueled brain farts.

This “cancel culture” meme has gotten so out of hand, Musk and others actually believe it now. That telling companies you won’t due business with them if they support certain voices is somehow an affront on free speech rather than a demonstration of freedom of association (and how your free speech might affect my freedom of association).

“People are saying things I don’t like! That’s not Freedom of Speech! Freedom of Speech is when a rich man can say whatever he wants without any consequences!”

In 3 months Musk will probably declare that he solved "the free speech" and achieved his goal of purging the bots and trolls as well as clearing all the "wokes" lol.. out of the company. Then he’ll sell Twitter to Joe Rogan for “an undisclosed amount”, claiming that this was his plan all along, and that any screwups going forward are the new buyer’s fault.

If I'm understanding correctly, it seems the check mark is no longer for verification. You just have to buy it. This means, verification is no longer verification. lol

Musk pushing ahead with a "Onlyfans" video paywall version of Twitter?

Musk really does have a hardon for Twitter!

And we all know that American advertisers love having their products aligned with pornography.

Brilliant plan, Elmo!

The irony of that link being behind a paywall is as meta as it gets.

There is a very large and growing amount of adult content on Twitter. The company's previous management admitted it was one of their only growing segments. If you're comfortable with it existing then there is good reason to monetize it and something like this might have been workable. As he continues to sap user confidence in the platform I'm not sure its going to be that easy anymore and he's going to be under increasing scrutiny from regulators and the App Store owners. Also trying to rapidly roll out complex and insufficiently tested new features that are going to be resource intensive while dramatically slashing said resources is a recipe for huge trouble.

If he loses all of it, will he still be a centibillionaire? If so, I'd call that pocket change.
I understand that "only" $27 billion of the $44 billion actually came from Musk, balance is in loans or 3rd party equity (hi Saudi Arabia!) which are backed by Twitter "assets", not by Musk.

Of course, that sunk $27 billion in cash has basically all gone down the drain before the end of week 1, driven down entirely by Elon being Elon, and looks unlikely to ever be recovered. I still don't see Twitter coming close to meeting its $1 billion/year in debt payments as currently structured, even with the mass layoffs to cut costs ~ which will also cripple quality of service nearly immediately. e.g. 75% of moderation staff gone as of today

He is currently doing massive damage to his brand, which is the only reason Tesla stock is worth so damn much.

It's great. He is taking Tesla resources away to work on Twitter, while firing a shit ton of the resources Twitter already had to implement all these 'features' he wants to implement. And showing that he is a highly unstable business leader at this point, so caught up in his own warped narcissistic fragile skinned mind. Couldn't write it any better.

Hopefully he becomes the poster boy for "how do you become worth 1 billion using twitter?"

Answer: Start with 44 billion

Tell us how Biden has lost his mind again.
I don't think he's lost his mind, but he's clearly losing his cognitive ability. There is no shame in that, it happens to a lot of old people. In my opinion it's one of worst parts of our march to death as it robs a person of everything that makes them human.

Obviously you have never mis spoke or tripped up your words because your brain moves at the speed of molasses. For some of us, which I am certain includes Biden, we trip up our words and mis speak, because our mouths can't keep up with our thoughts that are miles ahead of what is being expressed verbally. (I am sure having a speech impediment makes it even more difficult). It's ten times worse when you are trying to read from a pre written statement because your brain is long past everything that is written... Of course, for some, that isn't a problem because their heads are empty and blank, so all they know is what's written on that paper or teleprompter in front of them. If you think that is the case for Biden, or for any President who is actually legitimately trying to do their job, then your brain isn't slow as molasses, it's not working.
