So. Elon is still not a phd in social sciences? Who could possibly have predicted the Asperger would have trouble extrapolating humanoid behavioral patterns. Its like he expected to roll into Kiev and be greeted with flowers and free pussy.

A lot of people get real news from tweets, and IIRC a lot of useful information about Russia's invasion of Ukraine was broadcast via Twitter. Although we all like to joke that it's a big cesspool, there are useful parts of it for many people. I don't use Twitter much myself, but I don't begrudge those who find real value in the service itself. Personally I don't give a flying fuck about social media influencers or celebs.

Like all social media it is all about what you do with it. There is plenty of s* to be found, but also a lot of great info. I follow a bunch of gaming related accounts and several creators I enjoy. There is no s* in my twitter feed, just a bunch of good info, funny jokes and general entertainment.

Something interesting I just noticed. There are zero ads or promoted tweets in my feed right now. Thank you Elon!

Maybe this is all just some 4D chess, big brain move by Musk to purposefully sink Twitter for the good of mankind.

He always envisioned himself as a Tony Stark of sorts...maybe this can be his redemption arc.

Ever watched the richest man on the planet discover, in basically real time, that his actions can have consequences? Well you can and it's free!

Lol the dots still not connecting for him.

Elon makes Twitter into Elon-Twitter
People lose confidence in Elon.
Elon-Twitter suffers.

This is high grade math… I hear that The Orange has a great mind, like his uncle, for this complex stuff, maybe give him a call.
Surely Rogan has some ideas. Call him. (his way of dealing is magic mushrooms iirc)

I don’t know what the impact will be but it’s important to keep in mind that Twitter is a tool used by people in authoritarian countries to get out information or counter misinformation. While Americans will most likely not even be impacted, I do worry about those who don’t enjoy our freedoms.
Hmm, Saudi money, hmm.

One thing is for sure when this goes tits up Musk is going to blame everybody but himself even if it doesn’t make any sense.

Well he's already started blaming "activist groups" for the exodus of advertisers.

Seems like it could be a re-run of Murdoch's acquisition of MySpace...

It's 20% of his networth. Not exactly pocket change. And I don't see how he can recoup that.
It's not pocket change but his net worth is 200+ billion dollars. It's not like he has anything to spend it on. It won't affect his day to day in any way, and he'll still be a multi-billionaire even if he loses 99% of his money.
