Seems kind of weird, to me. Who are these people? Are they organised? Making some sort of statement, that Musk has now let them off the leash?

And there's also this:

There will be a never ending stream of far right wingnuts who will insist on testing Musk's "Free speech" claims on a daily basis.

Musk (moron who couldn't see this coming) can't win, when he cuts them off he will get lambasted by the right wing, and if lets them through he loses advertisers.

Then again, he will have to tow China's censorship line on Taiwan or other issues with his Chinese factories held hostage (moron who couldn't see this coming either).

But he still comes out a head though because he owned all the Libtards! /s

Let the fun Begin!

Elon Musk, new owner of Twitter, tweets unfounded conspiracy theory about Paul Pelosi attack (msn.com)

“There is a tiny possibility there might be more to this story than meets the eye,” Musk wrote to Clinton, linking to a story published on a right-wing website called the Santa Monica Observer that questioned the circumstances of the attack on Pelosi, according to an archived version of the story.

The fact-checking website Media Bias/Fact Check rates the Santa Monica Observer as a "questionable source" based on "the routine publication of false and misleading information and the use of poor sources."

This is what Musk paid $44B for. The ability to spout conspiracy theories, without any worries about them locking his account.

Tiny and might are the qualifiers in that statement. I understand the need to make the statement fit a particular narrative, but the words are right there and a little hard to ignore.

Wow. Even now that Elon owns Twitter, the self-professed free speech absolutist is now being censored and canceled, by his own mind!

What a great first impression to advertisers. Tweet something that espouses a ridiculous conspiracy theory no matter how small. It's like when Trump would say you know I'm not saying this but some people are saying it..

Elon's tweet was just like that. He is a piece of shit

Irrelevant since the damage is done. And Musk and the entire right wing white nationalists know and understand this. All that’s necessary is something like that tweet to appear…even momentarily…to set their mindless minions into another case of apoplectic shock.
No retraction, no apology, no correction ~ just quietly deleted after brainwashing 110 million followers into believing further Republican conspiracy lies (and giving millions of hits to a completely whacked Republican conspiracy site)

Musk retweets a fake conspiracy that claimed that Paul Pelosi and the attacker were in a drunken gay tryst. He's off to a resounding start:rolleyes:

Apparently, the second largest owner of Twitter is Saudi Arabia. Specifically, Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, who is a far-right reactionary with close ties to the Murdoch's, and once owned substantial shares in News Corp. The other Saudi owner, KHC, is really just Alwaleed’s investment firm. So, Twitter is now owned by a Trump clone narcissistic sociopath and a right-wing Saudi reactionary. Sounds like it has a really bright future. lol

Exactly, now the entire planet knows about this outrageous lie. Meanwile at MAGA, some welcomed it, some just don't know (wink wink) and some are enraged.
Not a word of condemnation from them.
It's only a mater of time before the shooting begins. Sad.

I guess $44 billion doesn’t buy the "free speech" it used to.
It is indeed rather ironic that the only guaranteed access to widely distributed "free speech" in the U.S. is based entirely on how much money you have and spend on it ~ and that access has now mostly been bought out by extreme Conservatives

Elon Musk fired four Twitter executives 'for cause' as part of apparent attempt to avoid paying out MILLIONS in severance and stock options as it's revealed he's instituting rapid layoffs across the company to 'avoid similar payouts to regular employees'

As mentioned earlier in this thread, he's also laying off employees tomorrow to preempt stock bonuses due on Tuesday. Despite his acquisition agreement specifically guaranteeing employees would receive their bonuses. He won't be able to lay off hundreds of rank and file workers "for cause", but the narcissistic grifter may try to!

People - What cause?

Musk - Reasons
He'll point to the cybersec whistleblower and claim that Twitter ran a terrible shop.

It will be interesting to see what he has in that paper thin / empty folder of "just cause" to fire, that would make them ineligible, when he had only owned Twitter for a few minutes prior to firing top executives.. It's only been 4 days since he took ownership, and I am pretty sure, anything prior to that date is not admissible because he did not own twitter at the time. It will be fun watching him lose his ass in court.

IMO, another spite move by Musk. Probably knows he really doesn't have grounds to deny severance, but he can tie them up in court and the keep their money from them for a while, just because he's an asshat.
