So fucking what, if slavery is a very polarizing idea with many supporters does it mean that we should consider taking away people's rights to their own persons? Of fucking course not but making women literal slaves to a fetus and taking away their most basic right is somehow fine to legislate about.

He dont want to go into an abortion debate cause he is opposed to what tf Texas is doing right now... Its just that he wants his rockets to fly even more, so he wont burn any bridges with gov... you never know who controls what tomorrow, mafia state or no - rockets gotta fly.

The Starship project is the closest thing to a modern day Apollo program, and IF it pans out it will be insane. I'm giving him kudos for this and for pushing the adoption of EVs.
Overall imo the world is better off with Tesla and SpaceX and none of these would exist without him. Some would argue that Tesla would still be huge without Musk because he didn't actually start the company, but founding the startup is not the hard part, 90% startups fail so it's success was not guaranteed by any means.

I wouldn't be surprised since he is on the Autism Spectrum that he really doesn't have a strong opinion on it and doesn't really understand the nuance of the debate around Abortion and Politics.

I mean you can very clearly read from this Tweet that Musk doesn't support the Abortion law in Texas, government imposing it's will upon the people.
Look at Musk's comment recent comment about government is simply the biggest corporation with a monopoly on violence and where you have no recourse.

I really dislike the use of the term "fanboy" when the root cause is a difference of opinion.

He is smart enough to know that talking about taxes and the wealthy is a pretty big political topic and smart enough to know so is abortion.

So by being quite vocal on one and being demure on the other just makes him a hypocrite.

I know one chemical engineer who brought up some battery safety concerns and was immediately fired by Elon. No wonder none of their autonomous systems engineers want to say that their “FSD” is nowhere near ready and it’s dangerous to deploy in such an unfinished state. Same reason no one has told Elon that it will never reach full driving autonomy with cameras alone. Elon is the best at putting profit over safety and his employees’ well being and lying to his customers. Man of the year 2021!

I have zero problem with Elon trying to chase his dream. I have a problem with him being a hypocritical douchebag regarding politics and government, and also not wanting to pay his fair share and taxes.

While I admire many of his ambitions, I think people that are driving us to move to Mars in the name of saving humanity are fucking insane and stupid. When we have a beautiful planet here we can use all those resources to make more habitable for humanity first, before trying to colonize Mars. It's nonsensical. The only reason you like it is cuz it might make you more rich with more stocks

Mmmm you know I get the sentiment that maybe we should fix some stuff here at our first home first, then worry about mars later plus Musk Bezos Gates etc, for any given society does it make sense to have singular individuals with SO MUCH POWER? Probably not healthy.
Ill give you that I dont understand the negative emotional reactions to his character though? He is just running shop the American style.
Personally I understand that anything anyone ever build here was done on the backs of others, hierarchical slave systems is what we got us and this is how we produce pyramids. Sympathetic? Probably not. Necessary? Most definitely.
I used to be of the impression that the American capitalistic system was a through and through utter failure… Until it became Elons catalyst… Lets get to fucking MARS baby.

His fair share would be whatever the rules dictate. You want him self to come up with a magic number that is “a fair share” ?

What you crazies don't understand is that without Mars, there's no Tesla. There's no SpaceX. There's no Dragon. There's no Starlink. There's no FSD. There's no Boring Company, There's no TeslaBot. Etc.

You know why I think US capitalism and gov is fucked up? Cause the system is set up in a way where singular individuals can amass such gigantic wealth that it can buy a congress, hell, even a presidency. Representative democracy DEAD. And thats even before getting into the gerrymandering minority rule R is up to atm.
Bought and paid for congress critters by super wealthy individuals and corps.
Elon may not be playing that game, he may not even be cheating on his taxes… but the rest of them is.
And if this “representative democracy” thing is just for show, why should middle class folk pay respect to the super wealthy that is actually rigging the game? Nah, disgusting is not the word I’d use.

While there may be some radicals that do believe in taking too much, the vast vast majority of policy proposed is just to make things more equitable and multi billionaires would still be multi billionaires many times over and they wouldn't noticed an iota of change in their lifestyles or the lifestyles of their great great great great great great great great great great great grandchildren. You are as extreme as the few radicals that are too anti wealth accumulation- you don't want them touched at all - especially because you are riding this one particular billionaire's coattails to your own success, and you only give a shit about you.
