Not by posting a thread about it! 😉😛😀

I think they make people Elite, when that person has been known to help a lot. It's not based on post counts, though I used to think so.

Yup, people who are Elite got the title for significant useful contributions. Although having the title doesn't mean they still make useful contributions and are not a troll (*cough* dmccowen *cough*). You can't get it based on postcount, but there were many people in the fuzzybabybunny for elite thread that said he shouldn't be elite based on his low postcount and the relatively short time he's been a member here. Bollocks! The fact that so many think he should be elite after so short a time says a lot.

Examples:
EagleKeeper, CPA - help a lot with tax questions
Zenmervolt - I'm guessing because of his help in car threads
Kranky - helpful in many areas
Vic - helpful with mortgage questions
Dullard - Smart guy, helpful in many areas

Most of the elites became elite before I joined here and many don't post very much (at least in Software and OT, the two forums I post in mostly), so I really don't know why most people are elite.

Ya I read alot, and only respond when I feel it makes a difference to the post. If the post has tons of replies I have no reason to respond because its probably been said.

Nothing wrong with it... I just couldn't post that much, without neffing, if I tried.

I definatly agree, especially in fuzzy's case.

I am still trying to figure out if fuzzy IS a he, when I could have swore she/he refered to him/herself as a she. I can't for the life of me find that post though...

I agree that Fuzzy should be elite, but I've seen threads in FI with many people nominating someone for elite and it didn't happen. Hope it does in this case.

I assume everyone here is a guy unless they give me a reason not to, even if they have a female avatar (see: me) or a female name. Even some who explicitly claim to be women and post pictures of themselves, I still assume they're guys. There's a lot of incentive to pretend you're a girl here, what with the way the guys drool over them and defend them and what have you.

Anyway, I think I remember seeing a picture of fuzzybabybunny in the form of a reflection off the front of a lens, and I think it was a guy. But I could be wrong. Kind of hard to tell from the reflection off the front of a lens.

If you mean for me, I don't deserve Elite. I've done nothing to warrant it. Though if you mean fuzzybabybunny, yes he/she/it deserves it. 😀
 
Many times it takes a recommendation from another elite. Rossman (super-elite) has been known to elevate others by merely making the right comments.
