Spitzer will never be President. He's already been identified as not only a hypocrite, but a liar. If he was ever to be selected as a candidate for the Democratic Party, it'll send the wrong message to our kids.

even if he didn't have the brothel scandal behind him, he would never win. A jew will never become president of the USA.

I accept your second point, but the first is ludicrous. The hypocrisy in Spitzer's case shows him to be the contemptible worm that most politicians are, but to me the offense in particular is immaterial. It's only the hypocrisy that matters.

In general I don't see how sex scandals "show weakness" in a way that should matter to politics. I see about 99.x% of sex scandals as an attempt to distract from substantial policy issues. Of course the fact that scandals gain traction with the public is a pragmatic justification for why they "should" matter, but only because people are idiots.

for what i know of the guy, i like spitzer... he'd probably make a good president. will he ever become one? no. the sex scandal that happened a few years ago would keep that from ever happening.
