I've had a RAID0 setup for a while, but I'm not trusting the drives lately. I've always been skeptical and now I'm getting error messages. Anyway, they're a combined 320GB, so I thought I'd upgrade to a single larger drive, say a 500GB or 1TB, doing away with RAID0 altogether. I can create an image with Ghost on an external drive then put it on the new drive, but would it be that easy?
What else do I have to change to get it all to click? Do I need a new controller or can I get away with the one I'm using for the RAID?
I don't plan on using the existing drives except for external storage after the fact, so this is to replace those internal drives, not as an add-on or a move to RAID1. I want to go from a dual-drive RAID0 to a single-drive "generic" setup (or as close as possible) as painlessly as possible. Like I mentioned, I can create the image and drop it in place on the new drive if that's feasible.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Cheers,
Greg
