*shrug* I still have enjoyed the movies so far. 😉

*agrees* Frodo sucks. Only Samwise Gamgee is more irritating.

I mean both in the movies and the books. At least they're consistent.

i loved the series.

the only thing i didn't like about the series was the ending of ROTK and Elijah Wood.

perhaps b/c the books actually are hard to read, are far too detailed, and are really, really long

and yes I actually read them.

With all the booty he's gettin' between doing late night tv shows and continuing to act in major motions pictures. I wouldn't have time to read that book also 😉

Well obviously you do.

Does anyone else find his grin extremely odd (and a bit creepy)?

well OBVIOUSLY you did to, enough to read the thread and respond.

Elijah Wood is a busy man. You expect him to read this novel? He's too busy having threesome or going to parties.

I know it's subjective, but I didn't find the books hard to read nor too detailed. I read them all in 7th/8th grade. And they are not "really, really long" unless you only read magazine articles. 😉 Seriously, a single hardcover edition containing the complete LotR story is only about 1200 pages long (add on another 300 pages for The Hobbit). You want a long story? How about the Wheel of Time. Each book is around 500 pages and there are 9 or 10 books out now and it's *still* not over yet. I usually feel cheated if a book is less than 300 pages though. So maybe I'm just weird. 🙂

nah, you just love to read. 3 types of readers;

hate reading(magazine articles only), read to get by(school, etc), love reading(1200 pages in the 7th grade is not really really long 😉😛 )

Yea, but books 6-11 of the Wheel of Time can be compressed into a 10 page short story of how men and women don't trust and work together. Its still long as hell though. I'd say read A Song of Ice and Fire by George R R Martin. Best books, evar.

i read them in like 5th grade and loved every page. but considering the movies have basically no dialoge or anything taken from the books, i wouldn't say he really needed to read them.

Ive never read anything but the hobbit.. anyone wanna tell me the order of the books?
