Elevator Etiquette 101.

1) first person in controls the panel, if they have any sort of manor
2) ask politely for the floor that you need to the controller with a "please" as he looks intently for responses. He should also ask "floor?" while making eye contact with each passenger.
3) if you have to separate people when your floor arrives, kindly say "pardon me, this is my floor"
4) if you're on the ground floor, normal etiquette is in action. You hold the door for a lady and others if you are the closest to the door. You do this with a simple bow of the head and an open gesture of the hand "after you". From there the operator/controller will follow.

Common manners go a LONG way. Not only that, your manners will impress any hotties in the office and help you place a "gee, he knows what he is doing. I should get to know him better" idea.
