Elephant riddle

One day an explorer is out in the jungle. As he wanders along, he comes upon an elephant, crying with pain, a large thorn lodged in its foot.

Feeling sorry for the elephant, the man carefully pulls out the thorn. The elephant looks at him gratefully, then limps off into the jungle.

Many years later, the same man visits a circus, and sits in the front row. The elephant acts come on, but one of the elephants keeps looking over at the explorer. Eventually, the elephant breaks free, runs over to him... then picks the man up with his trunk, dashes him to the ground, and tramples him to death with his mighty feet.

Why did the elephant do this?

ANSWER: it wasnt the same Elephant...it was simply a random elephant asskicking at the circus..

feel free to flame away

because the elephant was the father and he wanted to kill his son?

Because the elephant was lame before, the circus, who were hunting for animals, ignored him. But once the explorer pulled the thorn out and the elephant was not limping, the circus realized they could use the elephant for the circus.

winner... only if you want the wrong answer 😀

The limping elephant was the leader of a herd and when she was lame, another took her place, but was quickly ostracized when the leader came back.

Being sent away the other elephant was eventually captured by the circus.

Question: Is it the same elephant?

The explorer is the man who caught the elephant, or the owner of the circus, or both, which would explain why he was in the front row.

Perhaps the man kept the thorn and made it into a cute necklace and when the elephant saw it it sorta went crazy. Because an elephant never forgets.
Or maybe it was just a crazy fvkcing elephant.

The elephant was a circus elephant to begin with and when it went lame the circus decided to leave the elephant because none could get close enough to the hostile elephant to pull out the thorn, when the man pulled out the thorn, the circus eventually found the elephant again instead of leaving the elephant in the jungle.

Okay, so the leader of the herd fought with another elephant for leadership because she was limping due to a thorn in the foot. She was beaten because of this. When the man pulled out the thorn the elephant went back to the herd and beat the new leader, who was then ostracized and captured by the circus. The man had kept the thorn and was wearing it. The beaten elephant recognized the thorn and became angry.

Okay the explorer is the man who caught the elephant? When the elephant turned her/his back on him, after he pulled out the thorn, he dropped a nice big tranquilizer dart in her/his ass.
He was off in the jungle looking for more elephants so when he returned the elephant remembered him and also remembers what he did and not to turn his or her back on him again. Trust is a big issue between these guys.

Or

The explorers face was the last was the elephant saw before being taken down and taken to the circus.
Perhaps seeing his face again set the elephant off because an elephant never forgets and remembers what happened last time she/he saw this mans face?

After being heped by the explorer, the elephant was free to walk through the jungle, and subsequently into a set trap.
