I don't like the Scion xB. The Element is much more stylish.

Interesting read, though.

actually the element is ugle, and nevr seen a scion, but those might b their worst cars ever. the accord is basic, i believe civic=rice and kid car, but its decent driver for normal.

On second glance, the xB is kinda growing on me. I can tell how some would like it. The front end looks funny to me. It is bigger than the Element... but I still think the Element is more pleasing to look at.

I've seen quite a few Elements around here. Seriously, they aren't nearly as bad as most of you make them out to be.. especially if you pick the right color combo.

I like the xB better b/c its body panels are body-colored and it looks relatively normal; albeit boxy.

The Element looks like a clown car with those grey panels all over.

The Element has too much plastic on it IMHO, I find that the plastic makes it look cheap

Honda makes some nice cars, but why they came up with an abortion like the Element is beyond me. ::shudder::

I agree with the plastic cladding, I don't really know what they were thinking. It would look better if it was all the same color.

I like the red and silver ones though. The bluish one doesen't look too bad, either.

Shrug.

Never thought I'd hear the word "stylish" and Element (Honda's that is) in the same sentence

I agree, the two-tone of the Element doesen't look good. What were they thinking? Other than that, it really isn't bad. By stylish, I just meant it's curves are much more pleasing than the xB's.

I wouldn't be caught dead in either of those cars.

The Element just plain out looks disgusting.

The Scion xA looks like it belongs back in Chicago mobster times.

The Scion xB is the best of the bunch, but still no more than average. Looks like a van thats supposed to race or something. Ack.

Those "thumbs up" that he recieved are probably no more than mockery of someone thinking they look good in their actual unfashionable car. I'm 20, I'm a college student from L.A. area. No one I know of would buy these vehicles.

I've seen both in person, and I'm pretty sure the xB is noticeably smaller than the Element. The xB seats more (5 vs 4) but it is physically smaller. There is also less space behind the rear seats, I think.

Yeah, but they only weigh around 2300-2500 lbs. 0-60 is about 9.4-10 seconds which is good for a dirt cheap economy car.

Interesting read, I looked again @ the cars after reading the article & can see that there are differences, I think Honda missed the mark by aiming the Element @ the younger crowd, it just doesn't have the styling that'd draw their attention. I drove one a couple of months ago & it wasn't awful, but I don't like that the front doors have to be open to gain access to the rear doors. The engineering behind the seats is pretty slick.

The Scion Xa looks good IMHO, but I won't be buying any of them any time soon, however with the agressive pricing of these vehicles, I think they'll sell very well, and when I'm in the market for a car in a few more years I'll look @ them, I can't stand the thought of spending >$20K on a car.

Poor Honda, selling Elements to grandparents & soccer moms:D @ least Honda doesn't have the "Old People's Car" stigma in the US that they do in Europe

The Scion xB is propably the fugliest piece of crap I have ever seen! I mean good god!

The Scion xA is definetly best looking of the bunch... doesn't say much tho.

And as the 16-year old Caitlin said about the Element in the article, "wouldn't be caught dead in it."

I agree. Except I'd switch the element with the xA.
