EDIT- .........realized the error in my title as neither the screen or the HD60 would be a "source".....oops...cant edit the title can you?
Well, I saw an Elgato HD60 Pro on CL for under $100 so I figured it was worth a shot but, looks like I am out of luck. I have one system for gaming. I have a second that I would like to use to capture the signal and encode/record/stream etc. Trouble is, my primary system is 4k. I am connected on the primary system to a 4k screen via DP out on GPU (GTX780 until I can find a couple decent 1080’s in stock) to DP in on the 4k screen and HDMI out on GPU to the HDMI in on the HD60.
The HD60 shows up in the NV Control Panel as just another screen (1080 of course). Trouble is, if I “clone” the screens both are forced to the lowest common res…..1080. Anyone know of a way around this or is it back to CL for this HD60 (Obviously a 4k capture card would do the trick, I am curious if I can make this work with the HD60. Play 4k on one screen, and get the HD60 to capture at 1080).
