Electronics return to Costco

Does anyone have experience returning an electronics purchase to Costco just before the 90 day warranty expires?

I bought a 55" LG TV for about $1100, just before Thanksgiving and I think I want to return it. I saw a slightly better model for around the same price plus I had to use my brother's membership and his name is on the warranty even though I paid for it.
I have since gotten my own membership.

I am on day 85 of the 90 day return period.

Okay guys, I'll take one for the team.

OP: You know people like YOU are the reason why Costco no longer has the AWESOME KICKASS LONG TERM ELECTRONICS WARRANTY anymore, right?

[Hulk Rage]Every time I see somebody return opened and used stuff at Costco, I want to go over and smash their faces in for their greed and selfishness! Why can't they just be content with what they have? Why didn't they read the many reviews online before making their purchase? Why can't they have some self control so they don't buy stuff they don't need in the 1st place![/Hulk Rage]

Ps. People who return food should have their membership revoked and perma ban from Costco.

As far as Costco is concerned, it's your brother's TV. I highly doubt that the warranty is transferable.

Everybody is ignoring the fact that OP also abused Costco by purchasing stuff while not being a member and now trying to abuse the store even more. Shame OP, I hope you get screwed over big time.

you can buy stuff for family (the op will be scrwed on the return though i think).

Wish we had a costco near me. We have a sams club (good store too. just watch what you buy. the return policy though sucks compared to costco's).

To answer the OPs question. They'll take the TV back no questions asked. You may need your brother there with you though. Unfortunately, people do this all the time.

Ask if they'll at least price match the other TV.

(Although you're brother will probably need to be the one to ask.)

90 days in, I'd still be in the new-product-halo period and wouldn't even be looking or caring.

Depends on the Costco. Most likely they will take the TV back. Since they can no longer sell it, they will break the screen with a forklift at the end of the day. Then we all pay higher prices for other people's idiocy.

However, some better managed Costcos will refund the cost of the TV and the membership and then ask that the customer never shop there again.
