I'm trying to get more into different kinds of music. Any suggestions on techno, electronica, etc.

Thanks,

try some beginner's fare like new order, pet shot boys, erasure, sarina paris

that should get you started before going to some hard stuff.

Try aphex twins.

Also listen to some of the streams on live365.
This way you can get a feel for the different styles and artists, before you start buying CDs. I'm listening to Radiowave UK right now and they play some great stuff.

new order and pet shop boys? Jesus. Find a good club/rave in your area, or check out satellite records or groovetech if you want to hear a wide variety of techno/trance/house/d&b/etc in real audio... or you can always go for the trendsetting dj's like Paul Van ***, Paul Oakenfold, John Kelley, DJ Dan, Sasha, John Digweed, etc... not a bad place to start.

Yesterday I heard an album from an Iceland group called Sigur Ros. They're gaining popularity here and the music was interesting, a lot of spacey ambient sounds.

In my drunken opinion, Trance is gods music !!! www.tranceaddict.com

Anything after Rank 1, DJ Tiesto, Ferry Corsten will 0wn all your bases!!

I have been priviliged enough to have seen Ferry Corsten live, and I can honestly say that is the greatest fun I've ever had !!!! (while I've had my clothes on :p )
