I just bought a Sonicare electronic toothbrush at Costco.

Acoording to the manual, Gel toothbrush works best. Anyone using Gel toothbrush? then Which one is the best??

Can Sonicare electronic toothbrush really make my teeth Whiter?

Thanks all,

even though I bought it, i'm still curious how it works.....

I don't have that particular one, but the electric toothbrushes that I've had over the years tend to break down and stop working quicker than I would like it.

I'm using colgate total gel with my sonicare... havn't used paste. Had the thing for a month or 2 now. I'd have to say my teeth are a little whiter than when I started... it definatly cleans them a lot better than a regular brush.

I guess u mean electric toothbrushes (unless u use ground old microchips for brushing that might be referred to as electronic :) - they are awesome. I miss mine ( my luggage got stolen 2 weeks ago = teh suck) my teeth dont feel as clean anymore since I had to go back to the conventional muscle operated ones...

Sonicare toothbrushes rock. I dunno how exactly how they work, but I'll try to explain. Something inside the handle vibrates at 30,000 Hz. There are magnets on the brush head assembly that pick up the vibration and in turn vibrate the head of the brush side-to-side at 30kHz.

The whole brush handle is sealed water-tight. They charge by picking up the current from the base. There are no metal contacts to charge or to vibrate the bruch head. It's pretty damn cool!

Another vote here for the Sonicare toothbrush. :)

I love mine and I will never give it up.

I don't use a Gel toothpaste. In fact, I use Crest Tartar Control paste and it works great. :)

Do they break down pretty regularly? What can I expect my yearly toothbursh budget to become if I start using one of these?

My mom got 3 Sonicares for $90 at a dental convention. They're great. :D

Previously, my dad paid $90 for just one..

30,000 hz is certainly faster than other brushes, but heck does that really make it better?
Is there a type of magical plaque that doesn't come off till you hit 30,000 hz?

I'm new to electric toothbrushes, so I bought cheap. First, a Colgate Acti-Brush. It's OK, but I'm currently using a disposable $5 Crest Spin Brush that's styled like a race car. I like it.

I use the Sonicare with Tom's of Maine. Toothpaste. Works very well, and no harsh chemicals. :)

I got a Sonicare over in Hot Deals free, a long time ago, just used it this morning. You're going to love it . I only brush with Tom's Wintermint tooth paste, with what ever brush I use.

I haven't changed my sonicare's brush in 1.5 years. I always dip it in peroxide after use, tho. How often do u change your brush?
