Electronic sound bug repeller????? anyone try these things?

I was browsing through a catalog which has these things you plug into a wall socket which is supposed to repel bugs and rodents...

Has anyone actually used these things? and what results have you had?

A friend of mine got one for spiders, and his family swears by it. They had a big spider problem in their kitchen, and since they installed the ultrasonic thingy, they haven't seen any.

I don't know if the little sound things are for real, or if they just drive the bugs behind the woodwork, but they seem to work.

I think coleman sells keychain mosquito repellers.. no idea if they work though

Saw a study on the mosquito ones...save your $$. I kinda wonder if the rodent ones are the same.

I had one of these, and it worked great. It worked against bugs, mice, rats, moles, people, bats, everything. It was quite simple in design... If memory serves me correct, it was a small tape player that would play assorted songs from "The Dixie Chicks", and theme songs from "The Golden Girls" and movies starring the Olson Twins.

Sadly, it met with a brick wall, and never worked again.

Gotta love in the US how we don't really regulate truth in advertising.. i just saw a tv ad last night claiming a pill could increase breast size in women.. hahaha.. but sad
