Electronic Equipment Disposal?

Well, since the parents are moving away, I have to get rid of a lot of stuff I've put into storage at their place.

I have 3 broken playstations, a dead powerbook, several harddrives that are dead, an AT computer case with motherboard, videotapes of anime I used to watch, etc. etc.

Can't just throw them in the trash, is there a better way to dispose of these? I have until this weekend to get all this crap out...
 
I know of at least one university that has a computer junk pile. I've picked-up a bunch of printers and such from there. Anyhow, I imagine that what's left after the scavengers go through the pile is properly recycled. So, maybe you could check local colleges and unis?
 
Just put 'em outside, visible, where you usually put the trash. Someone will likely pick 'em up, if just to ebay 'em and make a few bucks.

just put it into something else so they don't see it

I don't want to throw them out because its extremely unfriendly to the environment.

If there was a place I could send them off to to be stripped or recycled...

As for my powerbook, if you can find a way to New Jersey between today and tomorrow, then its yours.

Unfortunately, I don't have the time to ship this stuff out, I won't be able to receive anything off this redirected address, so its this weekend only... Sorry.

I'm willing to PM anyone who is willing to drop by and pick stuff up.
