yeah, so I've been without power since 6:20. It just came back on, almost 4 hours of darkness...

there was a huge thunderstorm in my area and my town/surrounding towns lost power.

On a positive note, I got some reading done, but damn those were a horrible 4 hours.

 :light:

Man, tell me about it. When the power goes out I feel lost, completely cut off.

During the Great 2003 Blackout I was without power for 48 hours. It was miserable.

Oh yeah... I agree 100%...

Even during the middle of the day when I'm outside or doing something else... just knowing the power goes out it just makes me feel empty... :)

There was a power outage yesterday over here too. Lost just about all the work I had done for the day.

Short term power outages can be fun and refreshing (of course, not when you have to write an essay or something). I had a good time trying to figure out how to warm up a cup of water for tea with a candle and a soup can.

I honestly wouldn't have minded had it been in the middle of the day. Becuase I can always find something to do with my friends. But at night, when its pitch black, its just boring and there's nothing to do.

You have no idea man. Try living in Florida during last year's hurricane season like I did(and still do). For each hurricane, power could be out for a week or more depending on where you lived. Where I am, power was out for 6 days with the last hurricane.

Your motorized closet system doesn't have some sort of uninterrupted power supply?

I remember I was in a black out for 4 days in 2001... :(

Had to go buy a GBA from going insane, then I found out back then you needed a light to play games... :(

I'd like to beat you with a rubber hose.

I'm STILL at work because we had a "fun and refreshing" power outage that killed electricity in the datacenter. The power went out, the UPS failed, and now here I am at work at 12:30 am at my 14th hour at work. Probably 100 of our 240 servers went down, along with the network and the SAN.
