Electrical people - need some help on a little project

I have a couple parts like this:

Basically a circuit board with integrated pushbuttons (for an Xbox & controllers, if you're interested). The outer case of the Xbox console & controller receiver have a larger plastic pushbutton with a peg that pushes the pushbutton on circuit board.

My question is, how can I remotely locate pushbuttons like that? I want to put a normal pushbutton elsewhere in the case and use standard wires to hook it up with. Possible?

it's possible. how though really depends on how the board is wired up. most likely all you have to do is to put a push button in parallel connection to an existing button.
