Electrical interference

The inexpensive (read cheap piece of crap) head unit in my truck has reached the point that there is so much interference I can't hear it. The CD player is fine, FM only ever received one station anyway, but now the AM is pretty much gone. The back up camera blows it up when it comes on, nothing but white noise.
New head unit, or is there a filter I can install?

Never mind, there is an electrical interference web site. Should have known.

I assume it worked okay when new or else you would have returned it? How long has it been in service?

Certainly check the grounding, and the antenna connection including if there is a separate connector at the antenna/pigtail... could be coincidence that your antenna connection corroded after it was installed but it's not likely the primary problem since a change of state (backup cam) makes it far worse.

Due to that change of state issue, an additional filter is not likely to help enough, but one thing to check is whether it does this with the engine off in accessory mode. A (typical automotive radio) add on filter is primarily meant to filter ignition system noise.

I also assume you're running standard resistor type spark plugs and wires, not some aftermarket performance upgrade solid core then that switch caused the start of the radio problem?
