This question is regarding the possilbe electrical interference that is generated by peltier/thermoelectric type cooling devices (including but not limited to computer CPU cooling).
Recently I purchased a small peltier dehumidifier to replace the NOISY regular dehumidier that I am using.
Upon hooking up this device it ran fine and was almost completely silent. However, when I went downstairs, I noticed that my TV picture was distorted/snow. So I went back and turn the dehumidifier off and the TV picture cleared up. I repeated this several times to make sure it was the cause. It was.
My question is is it a common occurance for these peltier type devices to cause electrical interference in other adjacent electrical devices or was this just a defect in the device I purchased ?
Thanks.
