Electric wood chippers?

I have a bunch of trees (20-25) in my yard so between the normal dropped twigs and branches and my annual pruning activities, there's quite a lot of branches to cut up and/or bundle for the yard waste guys to haul off. Yet I don't have nearly enough to justify buying a gas-powered chipper (nor do I have space in the garage).

Anybody ever use an electric wood chipper? How well do they really work on sticks < 1" in diameter?

I have the el cheapo from Harbor Freight. It works fine on small branches but you will spend quite a bit of time manually feeding the branches in - they don't really get sucked through very well. Hint - before you use it disassemble the main parts and loctite everything - the buzzing can loosen some of the nuts. All in all it's worth it if you have a lot of branches to get rid of every year and have a use for the shavings.

You can get a decent one for 200 bucks, don't expect to be able to throw an entire tree into it but I have mixed twigs and branches with catalogs and magazines to use it as a shredder.

I bought a McCulloch brand one from amazon for about 200 for my parent's house.

Thanks. I assume the blades on those guys can be resharpened? How well do they do with non-seasoned branches? ie. green flexible branches that still have leaves. Prone to clogging?
