Electric Water Heater

Going home over Christmas break for a while. Does anyone know if we can just simply kill the circuit to the electric water heater and then turn it back on when we return without doing anything special?

I'm not sure how to turn the thermostat down either. It is in a bad place so I'm not even sure if I could get to the bottom control to turn it or whatever.

Yep, you can just turn the breaker off. Not like gas at all. Be sure the pipes don't freeze though.

 

As long as you're not winterizing you should be fine.

I simply turn off the breaker to my electric water heater at my lake house every time I leave and have been for almost 20 years with no problems, and it is the same water heater. In the winter I drain the pipes though.
