Electric shavers: work better than razors?

I've only used electric my whole life. I'm sure a good razor and cream can get a bit closer, but I'm quite satisifed with a good electric, and I don't experience much irritation as long as I use aftershave.

I knew I was not the only one. Electric shavers irritate my skin a hellava lot more than blades. I bought an expensive electric one a few years ago and I used it two times then I went back to my trusty Mach 3.
