I'm trying to make a circuit that consists of five switches and 2 LEDs. the LEDs are fro radioshack and are rated 2.1v, 20mA, 1900mcd. I'm currently using two AAA batteries to power just one LED, and it's not even bright at all!! I'm sure these LEDs can go brighter. when I add another LED of the same specs to the circuit, they both don't light up. what battery and how many of it are needed to power up my two LEDs? also, are these 1900mcd LEDs bright enough to illuminate a small area in the dark?

thanks!

Be careful, if you overdrive your LEDs, you'll burn them out.

Take three AA batteries, wire them in series. Put a 20-50ohm resistor in series with the two LEDs (themselves in series). I don't know what you're doing with your switches.
