I don't know who is going to win the popular vote. But what I do know is that it is very disconcerting to be in a state where I know my vote for President doesn't really matter. And to be honest that goes for pretty much everyone in the country other than those in a few key battleground states.

The most accurate way to call it is to take the number of electoral votes for each state, and divide them by the popular vote for that state and distribute them that way.

From what I gather when you get the 270 EC votes, you win... So where does the pop vote come in to play?
