Just when I think I'm sick of it, I head to my local McCain office and put in 2-3 hours on the phones. I have the best feeling in the world when I leave at the end of the evening.

You are capable of participating in the euphoria of a campaign, but too foolish to have any good sense about the right and wrong of the cause you are involved in supporting.
Well, that's your opinion. I have my own. I've done my research. I've served my country via the military. I can do as I choose. I don't disagree with the Democratic party - however, I do disagree with the extreme liberal and/or social side of the Democratic party. I'm sure it's quite the same for the Democrats, too. They can probably deal with Republicans - but not those with extreme radical right-wing views.

BTW, I'm agnostic when it comes to religion, I don't own a gun and I don't wear flannel shirts. So, make your own assumptions about me and my beliefs, but don't stereotype me into the rest of the Repubilcan supporting crowd.

Thank you,
T2T, since you work for the McCain campaign, can you please give me 3 good reasons (positive things about him) for this independent to vote for him? PS: Don't mention Obama.

Certainly,

1) I don't believe that socialized medicine is the right prescription for the ills of medical coverage, or lack thereof.

2) Corporate taxes and capital gains taxes are too high. Reductions in these can lead to more investment. Some people don't realize that while oil profits have soard for many oil companies over the past year; yet, they still have paid more in taxes than the profits they've made.

3) I believe that Sarah Palin will not be McCain's "yes man" - or rather "yes woman" -- but challenge him on some of his Republican beliefs. I don't think this will erupt as a major conflict, but allow McCain to view agendas from another perspective - and handle things more progressively.

And, even a bonus 4th and 5th answer:

4) I'm completely against giving tax credits to people who don't pay taxes at all. This type of "DemFare" can be harmful; it will be hard to motivate people to go after their dreams when they're getting "hand outs" from the Government.

5) Raising corporate taxes and capital gains taxes as being proposed by the Democratic party is all based on their "best case" guesses. They're assuming that people will own up and diligently pay the taxes. However, companies as well as people with lots of money hire very talented lawyers as well as investment people. These talents that they've paid for will find ways to ensure these desired tax increases that the Government would like to pass onto them do not happen as their money will be moved to someplace safe where the Government would not necessarily have access to all of it.

Finally, it should not really be implied that I work for the McCain campaign. I do work as a volunteer in a single campaign office as a volunteer. I'm doing this for my own personal reasons. 99% of the citizens in this country (from both parties) believe that just voting is "enough" and they've done their part. However, by myself getting involved, I know that I don't have to be like the Monday-morning armchair quarterback criticizing their favorite football team for not doing things a different way. In my case, I'll know I tried to do what I could - and, tried to do the best job that I could.

Thank you for your participation in the process, but please refrain from speaking pro/con on any party, platform, or candidate in this particular thread. I intended it only to be a place for people to share on their exhaustion (or exhilaration as the case might be) related to this Presidential campaign.

The real question is, during future elections - as candidate funds could potentially grow, could they drag out even longer? Imagine the fatigue we all have now. It could be worse in future years, and probably will.

Man you hit the nail right on the head. My perception as well!

You've also forgotten about all of the money the PACs/lobbyists have given them to vote for pet projects.
