Election Day in 1 Week

*mods, any chance of a sticky here or P&N?*

It's that time of year again folks. Many of you may already have mail-in ballots, while others will be heading to the polls old school. However you do it ***PLEASE*** vote.

Governments, especially representative ones like our democratic republic, depend on the participation of citizens to continue. Not voting doesn't make a statement, it makes you mute and helpless. If you don't like the choices offered then write in someone else. It doesn't matter that they win, it matters that people in power and your fellow citizens know that it isn't that you don't care, you just aren't happy with either choice.

Another way to get the point across.

I did the touch screen voting thing last week. Security is so tight all I had to do was fill out a little card with my info and produce no proof of my identity.

I'm away from home at college. I found out that there was a registration deadline about 2 days after it passed by.
How do those mail-in ballots work? Would that be an option anymore?

no, no, if you have to beg people to vote, they probably don't know enough about the issues to vote intelligently

Georgia has an issue on the ballot restricting the use of eminent domain. I'm voting for that reason alone.

That's ok, our leaders don't govern intelligently either.

Democratic elitism FTW! I'm kind of subscribing to this ideal as of late. It's interesting and I encourage others to look into it.

^^ damn right. I hate the fact that most politicians are clueless and are the equivalent of a talking barbie doll..

Telling people to vote because they can is like telling people to buy a gun because they can. Frankly, I'd rather have more informed people vote rather than just everyone vote. Most people just vote along party lines without even knowing what the candidates stand for. Those people should be encouraged to not vote.

Already voted absentee.
Lots of props on the ballot this year. Voted for Ahhnold and put everyone else as democrat.
I have no clue about local officials though, so I voted for the very few I met/knew, and left the rest blank.

I'm a democrat, so I can't vote often to cheat the votes like the republicans.

Lets go Democrats! :)

*puts on flame suit*

And everybody (except Republicans), VOTE

QFT :p

Too bad, most of us lazy Republicans (aka too busy to go to voting booth) voted via absentee. Exit polls will be inaccurate once again (like in 2004).

You would need to contact your county Board of Elections; I'm not personally familiar with PA law, but in Ohio, no; you would be ineligible to vote, regardless of method, if you missed the registration deadline.

Well I'm registered back in my home district, and have voted in previous elections. I'm just not registered where I'm living right now, on campus.
