Just FYI- I thought of this while thinking "how is the Iraq war really benefiting the US?" Then this concept formed-
Bush's neo-conservative stance was necessary to make Americans dislike their government, and now the second step is to bring in a popular government that will enact social programs that benefit everyone to make them like the government. New laws created in the Bush era will be still in place for the totalitarianist "left" government to use to suppress any opposition left, they will cast them as supporting the previous neo-conservative policies and then suppress them with the public on their side. The war on terror will be short lived, at least in its current form. Other countries will still be fighting; destabilizing Iraq, Afghanistan, and the entire middle east has created an enormous arms market to satisfy the large defense contractors. Dont forget, the purpose of PNAC is to cement the US as the world's sole superpower in the 21st century, and they will accomplish that at their current rate.
