I have plans to put two electrical junction boxes outside, I figure I can wire from the breaker box to the point I want to get outside too pretty easily.

THe question is how do I go through the vinyl siding, wood, etc and make it water proof and all that good stuff. I need the "idiots guide".

Also, I will be drilling thorugh that 2x12 or whatever that is directly above the cement foundation. is this OK?

Basically, I want to do this in order to do outdoor lighting. A light on a post and some deck lighting.

THANKS!

Well, I want to do outdoor lighting, so if I get a junction box outside, I view the rest of the work as just time. I have no idea how to ge the junction box outside in the firstplace thoguh.

I couldn't find this at doityourself.com, so maybe i'll join the forums later.

well, go to home depot or lowes or whatever, ask.

there are specific things made for outdoor use, generally have caps over the outlets

holy crap, dont drill over what's on top of the foundation, drill through a wall (not a stud).
