They're so quaint and cosy!

A little one room log cabin with a small fireplace for cooking, a couple oil on canvas paintings, a humble little wooden table, a couple wooden chairs and cabinets, and I'd be good to go!

And crunch on some apples and a wedge of cheese. Yummy!

I'm more of the loaf of bread and cheese type.. once I figure out the formula for a sandwich I'll be set for life ;)

on a side note; how far are you into the game?

You can get this now, just get a log cabin in the woods somewhere.

Of course, the game skips over many details like temperature in the winter, bugs, and the crap-covered outhouse.

Umm, how TF?
I have like 10k after buying 2 houses and I'm 50 hours in, hardly done much of the main quest. And I have a hell of a lot of goods which are worth a fair bit I could sell.

Most are from quests outside of the main game storyline. Since the game enemies level up with your own character, once you get a really high leveled character a lot of the enemies carry goodies like Deadric stuff. After that, there's no problem buying a house, or multiple houses with all the furnishings for that matter. Right now I could buy a house and still have 80% of my money left.

well, my mercantile skill sucked pretty bad :p
merchant's disposition was 99 or 100, whichever.

i beat the game at level 4, boo ya! oblivion was cool, but i definitely couldn't do another run, ESPECIALLY with their leveling system - that's the thing i hate most.
