I'm trying to buy a used LCD for my friend, who doesn't want to spend too much. I found a used Eizo L66 (18", .28mm, 250:1 contrast ratio) for $120. I searched high and low for reviews, but being as how this came out when LCD's were first hitting the market (I think retail was like $3500 at the time) it's hard to find any.

You think it's too risky buying this for $120? I'm worried the backlight may go out etc. Or should I just spend like $75 on a used 19" CRT monitor? I hate the size but at the same time I dont wanna buy an LCD that'll die in a year or two.

too hard to find means its outdated or something else negative. its better to just save a little for a brand new 17" lcd.
