Either my IT department has site licenses for a lot of software, or they're not very careful...

I know that the MS Office installer runs without even asking for one, I assume that they got some custom installer script that automatically puts in the serial number. I don't know if they have similar setups for the rest of the software.

Why would it be? It's an intranet server, it's not like you're going to be able to connect to it.

thats what i was thinking too....a bit cocky for a company with very few security policies in place.
 
A lot like our IT department and I know they don't have licenses for most of the software and there's good bit of cracked software too.
 
If your company is big, then they probably bought corporate editions of those programs. I know my company gets Microsoft packages all the time that can be installed on any PC we have.
