EINSTEIN'S RIDDLE
This is solvable... I swear.

1. There are 5 houses in 5 different colours. In each house lives a person with a different nationality.

2. The 5 owners drink a certain type of beverage, smoke a certain type of cigar, and keep a certain pet.

3. No owners have the same pet, smoke the same brand of cigar or drink the same beverage.

The question is... "Who owns the fish?"

FACTS:
- The Brit lives in the Red House.
- The Swede keeps Dogs as pets.
- The Dane drinks Tea.
- The Green House is on the left of the White House.
- The Green House's owner drinks Coffee.
- The person who smokes Pall Mall rears birds.
- The owner of the Yellow House smokes Dunhill.
- The man living in the centre drinks Milk
- The Norwegian lives in the first house.
- The man who smokes Blends lives next to the one who keeps Cats.
- The man who keeps the Horse lives next to the man who smokes Dunhill.
- The owner who smokes Blue masters drinks beer.
- The German smokes Prince.
- The Norwegian lives next to the Blue House.
- The man who smokes Blends has a neighbour who drinks Water.

Einstein wrote this riddle this last century. He said 98% of the world could not solve it.

It can be done. Be part of the 2% that COULD.

The Norwegian lives on the end, hence lives next to blue only. Since white and green are next to each other, and the Brit is in red, the Norwegian lives in the yellow house on the end and smokes Dunhill. This rules out all beverages for him except water. Thus the person next to the Norwegian lives in a blue house, smokes Blend, and has horses; this rules out the Brit, the German, and the Swede, leaving the Dane. The person next to the Dane is in the middle and because he drinks milk, his house is not green (hence either red or white) and he does not smoke Blue Master. Since the Swede does not raise birds, he doesn't smoke Pall Mall. The smokers of Dunhill, Blend, and Prince are known, so the Swede smokes Blue Master, drinks beer, and thus lives in the white house. Then the German lives in the green house and drinks coffee. Since all other beverages are now known, the Brit in the red house must drink milk and live in the middle, and since the other smokers are known, he must smoke Pall Malls and raise birds. The Dane lives next to a cat owner, and since the Brit on one side owns birds, the Norwegian on the other owns cats. Since we now know that the Norwegian has cats, the Dane horses, the Brit birds, and the Swede dogs

the answer is: the German owns fish.

ok, solved it :p

hmm I wonder if he included everyone in that 2% outcome.. I.E. disabled ppl, old ppl, kids, phychos... -_-;

anyway, the part that took longest for me was, the owner who smokes blue masters drinks beer.

But I cant see anyone with logical mind having any type of problem solving this... i.e. programmers i guess.

fun :)
