Welcome scoser 😀
I was feeling a little bit lonely
🙁
Thought I might have to find a friend in a bottle :wine: 😀

Just got my invite yesterday, so I figured I'd give it a shot. Got 3 machines going on it already, so hopefully that helps us out nicely.

You sign up at: This site here! and then you wait for an invite. I signed up shortly after it was announced, so you might have to wait a bit.

But the alpha testing is going great so far. 3 computers running with no problems with the program and current work units finishing in about 45 minutes on a XP 3200+, 50 minutes on a P4 3.0C, and 1 hour on a XP 2000+. One of the things I like best is nice fast work units, so hopefully they'll stay nice and quick.

I just run the BOINC client straight from the Einstein site, which is as close to CLI as you can get with this. I wouldn't touch it if I had to use a screensaver only.

Like LHC & Predicor@home, Einstein@home runs only under BOINC.

This means currently if non-windows, you've only got a cli.
If windows, you choose if run the cli or gui, and if gui if you wants to display the screensaver or not.
In both instances the actual crunching is done by the same application, so if you're not running the screensaver or have the gui stuck on the disk-tab there isn't any difference between gui & cli.

Well, if NT, you can install the cli as service. 😉

The separate gui isn't currently finished, but the windows-version is nearly finished.

Hopefully we'll get more people going on this project soon, so the BOINC variable credit system works faster, since I've got 750 in pending credits with more accumulating every minute.
