Einstein@Home project

Congrats networkman

Anyone care to explain how those stats work? How come TA_andy is in 1st place when scoser has higher total & recent avg. credit numbers? 😕

That's a very good question actually. I was thinking it maybe had something to do with when they joined the project? I'm not sure.. but if it was based either on total credit or recent credit, I'd be in first.

Not to worry though -- it's a TeAm effort, so I'm cool with wherever I'm ranking amoung my TeAmmates. 🙂

That's what I think.
I've stopped all BOINC projects for the forseeable future to concentrate on FaD for now, although this looks interesting when it gets up and running 😀
PS;
forgot the congrats

Good job.

Andy, that does look interesting!

By the way, I am sitting here reading my Astronomy magazine March edition again, and just stumbled across an ad for Einstein@Home that I missed the first time around. Just thought I would pass that on...

Most BOINC-projects doesn't sort the users in a team, except by the account-id. Since account-id normally increases in linear fashion, it's also by the order they signed up... But, seti@home imported all the "classic" users 14.05.2004, and sorted the old users by whatever place they had in "classic" at this date.

CPDN is the only project that you can choose to sort by RAC or Total Score, while Predictor@home is sorted by RAC.

To get more detailed stats, and even cross-project, use an external stats-site.

Congratulations on the Milestone networkman 🙂

I like this project, wish I had more resources. Decisions, decisions. What to run.

PlanetQuest looks interesting and fun 😀

I like the BOINC software, it isn't like I thought it would be after all the trash talk I read early on. Wish F@H would add a BOINC client.

Einstein@Home kept going when Seti was down. Not sure why I thought it would have problems too 😕

I actually am impressed with version 4.25. And the main reason that I like BOINC is that you can run a few different projects with the same client. Although for my work setup, the only one I have found that does what I need it to do is FaD...

Anyone running a BOnic project and losing WU's ... I have lost 2 WU's so far and am starting to get bent ... soemone says it is a problem with 4.19 ... yet no fix or upgrade ... I they can't get it right ... they give up ....

Hmm...... not exactly sure that you means here, but let's try to answer anyway...

Hmm, computer 14470... can this be correct?

If so, guess you're meaning result 1958407 and 1993400...

If you never got the info about these 2 "results", and never started to crunch them, this can be due to a bug in v4.1x. This bug is fixed in v4.25, and v4.25 for windows was released 08. March so it's just to download it, uninstall v4.19 and install v4.25 to the same directory. Uninstalling will not lose any wu. 😉

The BOINC "core client" must always be manually downloaded and installed, while different science-applications like Einstein@home will be automatically upgraded as needed.

For download, goto http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php

I haven't seen any problems with my own machines losing workunits and they're currently all at v4.19; I was planning to update them all to v4.25 this weekend, but maybe I'd be better off starting that upgrade a little earlier. 😉
