What do you folks prefer to use as your routing protocol?
EIGRP or OSPF
Why would you choose one over the other?
Allow me to get this started:
If I have an all Cisco network, that is not extremely huge, I'd use EIGRP. Faster convergence for most networks, does not need as much memory since it does not know every route to every network, and you can summarize on a per interface basis, on each router.
OSPF if its not a homogenous Cisco network or if the network is huge. EIGRP drops all routes learned from a neighbor if that neighbor does not answer a query fast enough. It could be waiting for a neighbor to answer it, and so and so forth. EIGRP get mad and says, since you did not answer me, I am going to declare everything I learned from you as bad information. Then it has to start all over, do you want to be neighbors?
