From this site I get that the US deficit when Bush tool office was 5.7 trillion dollars.
As of yesterday, April 20 it was at 8.34 Trillion. We still have about 2/3 of a year to go on our project 500 billion deficit for this year which adds another 322 billion to the deficit by the end of 2006. Which makes a total of Bush deficit since he took office of 3 TRILLION dollars.

At 3 percent interest the US government is paying 90 billion in interest every year JUST ON WHAT BUSH HAS BORROWED HIS FIRST 6 YEARS IN OFFICE.
How much is 90 billion? The entire Buish tax cut for one year for 98 percent of all Americans was 175 billion dollars. So every two years we are paying BACK one years tax cut.

Hey,, lets say Bush only puts us another 800 Billion in the whole in his last two years.
That means that we will be paying about 115 Billion dollars every year from now on, JUST ON BUSHES deficit.

Wow. Just wow.

Techs,

You are too much of an optimist------even if we are paying 3%--much of that is short term debt---and in event of inflation can well go up to 15% at a drop of that hat. Which means--bottom line---China nows owns us.

Another of those GWB gifts that keep giving and giving and giving.

But in the words of the immortal Alfred E. Newman-----"what me worry"---which seems to explain the American electorate.

But I am not merely worried---I am damn near scared to death.

Technically, Bush is only on the hook for $2.5T so far. But there's no doubt he will hit 3T before staggering off into sunset.

Don't forget to blame the Republican controlled Congress which has a say in the budget as well.

Not to mention the 700 billion porker that the GOP pushed through in Medicare Prescription coverage. Don't be so blind to think it's only the "liberal" party that's spending. Recent history shows that the GOP can spend with the best of them if not better.

Trumped up wars based on lies are even more expensive. Yea, those damned liberals that want to help the poor and the elderly. You're an ass. If it wasn't for medicaid I would have died 11 years ago, it paid for most of my heart surgery, and my parents use medicare to assist them with the numerous prescriptions they use as well as doctors appointments.
Maybe we should take these dregs of society out to a field and shoot them. They serve no useful purpose, right? I mean what actual contributions to society do they make? I hope you and zenny get your wish and subsequently need the aforementioned policies and they aren't there.

Not all, no, but $11.1 trillion. You find this acceptable somehow?

By the time that liability kicks in, 11 trillion will pale in comparison to the current debt.

Poor zenny, you're footing the bill for everyone on SS, glad you're paying my share :disgust:
How much of your precious money are they taking from you? About the same as they're taking from everyone else. Get over yourself.

Yes, I do. And realize that it's not just you paying for it. If it's helping others who have worked all their lives and have paid into and depend on it. Yes, I find it acceptable.

It's not just you paying interest on the national debt; yet you make a big deal about that.

Everyone always says China, China, China when actually Japan holds almost three times as much of our public securities.

Because it's a debt that was inflated by a war that was based on lies, deception and false information. And this a$$hole of a president and his tax cuts also inflated the debt. But of course you find the tax cuts acceptable, especially in a time of war.

I call that boosh will put this nation back by 12T by the time he leaves office.

Hell, I predict that we will be at 9T by the end of this summer. Sometime September / October boosh will be asking for another 500 billion for the Iraq way. And idiot americans will give him the gold card again. So....... By the end of this year alone we may be pushing to 10T!!!!

Sigh.........

God help us!

A world veiw they have, medieval throw-back to a world of nobles and serfs, where government is used to serve the elite (like Bush and his NE freinds) instead of all the people. That's why they are intent on breaking it. Obviously, a government that can't pay for things like FHA, SBA, EPA or anything else that empowers the little guy falls right into thier hands. They will still retain the good old fashinoned uses of government like torture, police, debtors prisons, wage taxes etc while doing away with anything that levels the playing feild. On one side you will have the capitalist/ruling class who pays no taxes and can prima nocta your wife, on the other you will have the powerless proletariet. Thier charachter is layed out for you to see. Bush thinks he's above the law just like any nobleman should be.
