I was thinking of getting a EIDE zip drive but I only have one slot left. The slave on Primary IDE. Will it slow down my hard drive if I plug that in there. I'm running WD 30 gig Ultra ATA 100 (and yes, my motherboard supports that)

That's the only slot I have left. The others are occupied by my DVD rom drive and my second hard drive (ATA 33)

if it's a newish m/board &amp; it should be if it supports ata100 then the answer is no! this is possible because of the independent programmable timing registers in the controller's design.
