EIDE CD Roms make win2k repeatedly reboot?

DaveH

I have my hard drives on a promise U66 in an Asus p3b-f MB.

I now have a Kenwood 72x as sole master on the primary onboard controller, and want to hang a Creative DVD rom as master and a ls-120 as slave off the secondary controller.

Whenever I hookup the creative, I get continuous reboots, with or without the ls-120. Very strange...

I also had the same problem with a Plextor 32/12/10 on primary master, and the kenwood on secondary master.

Any ideas? I'm using win2k SP1

TIA for your help,

Dave

Sometimes it's the simple things...

Have you tried switching the cd-rom and dvd? ie. dvd as master on ide1 and cd-rom and ls-120 on ide2?

my 2 bits.
