EIDE and IDE on same cable??

Are there any issues if i have a EIDE (45GB IBM Deathstar) and 1.2GB IDE HD on the same cable (namely the IDE#3 on a KT7-RAID w/o RAID setup)

Is there a rule about not mixing and matching on the same cable?

Right now it is on the RAID IDE#3b, but seems to cause problems preventing boot...here's the setup:

IDE1: TDK CDRW;Empty
IDE2: DVD -ROM; ZIP250
IDE3: a:IBM 45GB (XP Pro/Program Files); and the Conner 1.2GB if i can
IDE4: WD 80GB (Data HD); Seagate 80GB (Data + Install Drive)

I was just wondering as the 45GB is like 100 and the smaller drive is 33 i think...i had it running previously on it's own cable and was fine...
